The drama tells the story of Yu Wanwan, an adopted daughter of the Yu family, who is "sold" to Xie Tingnan, a tycoon in Beijing, as a bargaining chip to pay off her adoptive brother Yu Huai's gambling debts. She enters the Xie family with hatred for the Yu family and a determination to protect herself, but in her dealings with Xie Tingnan, she becomes entangled in emotional conflicts and a family crisis.
